Decorating for Renters: 5 Stylish Solutions That Won’t Leave a Mark

Struggling to decorate your rental in a stylish way? Just because you are renting, doesn’t mean you can’t create a space that speaks to you.

Here are five style solutions to help you get started!

1. Use Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Peel-and-stick is a great substitution for regular wallpaper. Not only is it easy to apply, but it is also easy to remove without causing wall damage. Plus, it is available in many different colors and patterns. Everyone can find a style they love!

Here is a link to some of my favorites: Peel & Stick Wallpapers

2. Use Command Hooks and Strips

Command hooks and strips are a great way to avoid using nails on walls. They are easy to install and are great for hanging artwork, photo frames, and organizers. Recently, 3M has come out with different colors and styles of hooks and strips, so you can adjust them to your space’s aesthetic.

Here is a list of the types of hooks and strips I suggest: Command Hooks & Strips

3. Use Peel-and-Stick Tiles

These tiles, similar to the wallpaper version, can elevate your wall space. They are water-resistant, so they are meant to last in areas like kitchens and bathrooms that have lots of splashing and humidity. Not to mention, they look exactly like real tiles, just without the expensive cost and complicated installation.

4. Install No-Drill Curtain Rods

If you are someone who wants to style curtains into their space without ruining their walls, this is a great option for you. Using a no-drill curtain rod with command strips is an easy way to avoid marking the wall. It can save a lot of space, especially in smaller areas.

5. Get an Electric Fireplace

Most rentals do not have fireplaces. Getting an electric version is a great way to bring in a stylish, yet cozy feeling to your rental. They come in various sizes and styles to suit your personal needs. They are much more cost and energy-efficient, as they are easy to maintain.

Here are some great fireplaces I have found: Fireplaces

With these five renter-friendly hacks, you can personalize your space without worrying about any restrictions or damages caused when decorating. From peel-and-stick wallpaper to electric fireplaces, these stylish solutions offer many options for making your rental feel like you.

Stay tuned for next week’s post, where we will discuss the most common decorating mistakes, and how to avoid them!

Cheers to creating happy spaces,
